A name born of two legends
Nemaries draws inspiration from the most powerful symbols of protection in ancient Greek mythology. The invincibility of the Nemean Lion and the guardianship of the Aries ram form the foundation of our name.
The Nemean Lion
Symbol of Invincibility
In ancient Greek mythology, the Nemean Lion was a legendary beast whose golden fur could not be pierced by any weapon. Raised by the goddess Hera, with claws sharp enough to tear through any armor, this monster was the feared guardian of the Nemean valley.
The hero Heracles faced this lion as the first of the twelve labors given by the king. When arrows and sword proved useless, he overcame the lion with his bare hands — and afterwards its impenetrable hide served as armor protecting him in battle.
Aries — The Golden Ram
Symbol of Guardianship
Aries was a sacred ram with a golden fleece, sent by the gods. It descended from the sky to rescue the innocent siblings Phrixus and Helle, who were about to be sacrificed through their stepmother's plot, and carried them on its back to safe lands.
In gratitude, Phrixus gifted the golden fleece to the King of Colchis. The king entrusted this precious fleece to the guardianship of a dragon that never slept. Zeus immortalized the ram as a constellation in the sky.
